From superhero costumes to SWAT gear, this week at S.W.E.A.T. has been a prime example of why I love calling it my fitness studio.
Several times this week instructors have thrown impromptu costume parties for Halloween and to raise money for breast cancer research. Though clients didn’t really have much time to plan, many people came to classes dressed for the festivities and ready to SWEAT it out in their costumes.
Alex started the festivities off by asking everyone to come to his Zumba class in costume on Monday. Of course, he put on quite a show with his own costumes. He made a grand entrance, shaking his thang in a SWAT costume, then switching shirts to become a green swamp thing, then suddenly ripping off his tear away pants (it’s ok he had shorts on underneath lol) jumping off the stage to run into the bathroom and finally coming out as a referee. As always, Alex brought his unmatchable energy and clients all had a great time, costumes and all.
Since Alex told me I had to stay for the first few minutes of his class to watch his grand entrance, I decided to take some video 🙂
On Tuesday, Jess decided to have a costume party to raise money to donate to Camp Braveheart. Danielle and Alex teamed up to teach Jess’s Zumba class. They had such a good time teaming up to teach, they are planning to do it again next Tuesday.
Alex once again impressed with this outfit, a pink fluffy tutu, while Jess and Danielle sported their pink tank tops and accessories. A good portion of the clients sported pink wear too.
Thanks to the clients $200 dollars was raised for Camp Braveheart.
On Thursday, Jess asked her R.I.P.P.E.D. class to come dressed in their superhero outfits. Anyone who has been to R.I.P.P.E.D. lately knows that she brought back the plyo section with the Superman jumps. To show off our super awesome abilities, Jess wanted us all to be superheros.
There was an interesting mix of traditional superheroes like Wonder Woman, Superman, and the Ninja Turtles and completely made up superheroes like Super Bad A$$ and Super Late. There was also a few regular civilians (like myself) who forgot their capes at home, but still participated.
Our fearless leader came clad in her Phoenix gear, with her fire shorts, tank top, socks and cape. The fire eyelashes and brows made the outfit complete!
At the end of class, I set up the camera and we recorded the plyo section and our awesome Superman jumps! Take a look. I think we give the R.I.P.P.E.D. creators a run for their money… at least as far as our creativity goes.
Overall it was a great week at the studio! I know Jess 3 dressed up for her Zumba class on Thursday and had candy too, and Gina has been getting us in the Halloween spirit for weeks with her kickboxing routines.
Hope everyone enjoyed as much as I did!
